Description This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required for replacing a hard floor finish. This unit covers the processes involved in removing the old floor sealant and replacing it with a new protective coating. This process is commonly known within the industry as 'strip and seal'.The unit requires the ability to assess the extent of the removal and replacement needed through understanding client requirements and applying organisational policies and procedures in order to perform the task. The selection of appropriate equipment, chemicals and methods is essential for performing the task safely and efficiently.

Assessment of competency may be made through practical demonstration in the work environment or in a simulated work environment.
